Decatur: Nellie Lee Dycus Joiner, 100, formerly of Lorenzo, Texas, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, September 22, 2012 in Decatur, Texas.
A celebration including her loving family and host of friends will be conducted at Coker Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur on Monday, September 24th at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church of Lorenzo, Texas on Thursday, September 27th at 10:00 A.M. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 P.M. in Lorenzo Cemetery.
Mrs. Joiner was born in Oklahoma, on July 30, 1912, to Jessie Clemons Dycus and Margaret Caroline Collins Dycus. She was united in marriage to Henry Grady Joiner on December 24, 1932 and was married 48 years at his death in 1980.
Mrs. Joiner was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Joe Robert Joiner and his wife Patsy Ruth Law Joiner; her son, Max Joiner; her grandson, Jimmy Don Joiner; her brother, Larkin Dycus; and her sister, Zephyr Mae Dycus Loftis. Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Caroline Joiner Durham and husband Bo of Burleson, her daughter in law, Patricia Smith and husband A.O of Lubbock; her son, Gerre Joiner and his wife Jo of Decatur; 2 brothers, Gene and J.C. Dycus; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of friends who will miss her deeply.
