Nelda Jean Cox

Bridgeport ~ Nelda Jean Cox, 90, of Bridgeport went to be with our Lord, Sunday, June 28, 2020 in Bridgeport.

Graveside Memorial Service is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Pleasant Grove #3 in Chico.

Dr. Craig Erb will officiate.

Nelda was born February 13, 1930 to Leo Garnet and Maddie Madeline (Morris) Prichard in Weatherford, Texas. After Graduating from high school, she attended and graduated from TCU University. Nelda was united in marriage to Ray Cox on June 24, 1950 in Love County, Oklahoma. She was a retired RN and Physician’s Assistant. Nelda was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Bridgeport.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gary Ray Cox; and her brother, Charles Prichard.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 70 years, Ray Cox of Bridgeport; her daughter, Rhonda Jeanne Friend and husband Robert of Hurst; her 3 grandchildren, Christopher Robert Stevens and wife Maricela of Ft. Worth, Julie Raye Strinko and husband Steven of Ft. Worth, and Jessica Rene Friend of Hurst; her 4 great-grandchildren, Sydney, Zach, Daniel and Katherine; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
