Decatur: Myrna Arlene Bunata, B.A.M.A., 91, died Saturday, December 29, in Decatur after several months of illness.
Ms. Bunata was born on October 6, 1916, in Topeka, Kansas, to Walter Alvah Foster and Rosemary Ann Blaha. Arlene graduated with a Masters Degree at Columbia University in 1942. She studied and trained with the prestigious Dancing Masters of America in New York.
She married Victor Bunata on July 21, 1950, in Denton, Texas. Arlene taught physical education in the Fort Worth school system and retired in 1971.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her sister, Laveta Harris of Boerne, Texas; brother-in-law, Fred Fischer of LaMarque, Texas; nieces, Charlotte Irwin of Livingston, Texas, Renata Dempsey of Decatur; Susan McWilliams of Austin; Ellyn Bunata of Mineral Pt., Wisconsin; Dr. Louise Heenan of Austin; nephews Rick Fischer of Boerne; Ernest Bunata of Longview; 16 great nieces and nephews, and 23 great-great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, W. A. and Mary Foster, husband, Victor Bunata, and sisters, Barbara Fischer and Dorothy Cogdell.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Waco, Texas.
