Oklahoma~ Myra Jean Whitten, 72, a retired purchasing agent, went to be with our Lord Saturday, October 18, 2014 in Dallas.
Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Coker- Hawkins Funeral Home with burial in New Harp Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Bro. John Sconce and Deacon Ray Edwards will officiate. Pallbearers include Steven Kelley, Michael Joe Reynolds, Thomas Hicks, Cameron Reed, Richard C. Whitten, III, and Richard C. Whitten IV.
Myra was born on April 9, 1942 to Robert and Lou (Parker) Freeman in Fort Worth, Texas. She was united in marriage to Richard Whitten, II on February 14, 1990 in Fort Worth. Myra retired from Volts Wagon as a purchasing agent. She was a member of Shady Dale Baptist in Marietta, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard C. Whitten, II; her daughter, Roxanne Ruddick; her son, Hoby Ruddick.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cindy Ruddick of Odessa, Nelda Aleman of Hearne, Shelby Whitten of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Candi Richardson; her sons, Cameron Reed of Tishomingo, Oklahoma and Richard Whitten and wife Lisa; her sisters, Pamela Neimeyer of Marietta, Oklahoma and Robbie Boaze of Mineola; her brothers, Danny Melton of Highlandville, Montana and Bobby Freeman of Hearne; her sister-in-law, Sharon Tuttle; her grandchildren, Chelsea, Adam, R.C., Jessica, Amy, Demi, Ricki, Stephanie, Sarah, and Jessica; Great Grandchildren, Dalton, Jaicee, Joseph, and Arie; her great great grandchildren, Kynlee and Auhstin; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends; our brothers and sisters in Christ of Shady Dale Baptist of Marietta, Oklahoma.
