Montie Ray White, 85, of Lake Bridgeport, passed from this earth on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Mt. Olivett Cemetery in Fort Worth. Free Raney and Johnny Irish will officiate.
Montie was born December 26, 1940, in Vernon, Texas, to Willie Pearl and Cora (Poole) White. After earning his bachelor’s degree from TCU and completing his teaching certification at UNT, Montie began a career in education as a teacher and coach. Over nearly 30 years, he served at several independent school districts before retiring from Decatur ISD.
Throughout his life, Montie was active in his community and faith. He attended University Christian Church in Fort Worth and United Methodist Church of Bridgeport. He was a proud member of the Freemasons and an active member of the Sheriff’s Association of Texas. A lifelong supporter of student athletes, he especially enjoyed cheering on the TCU and UNT football teams.
Above all, Montie was a devoted father, uncle, and friend. His kindness, friendship, and genuine interest in others touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Pearl and Cora White; his sister, Margie White Deaver and his brother-in-law, Don Deaver.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, D. Austin White and wife, Ana; his nieces, Donna Johnson and husband, Ken; and Jan Hubbard and husband, Buddy; along with a host of extended family members and friends.
