BOYD -- Monna Pearl Brown, 95, a retired teacher's aide went to be with our Lord Saturday, July 3, 2010 at her home in Boyd.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Boyd. Burial: Boyd Cemetery.
The Reverend Jim Bowden to officiate. Pallbearers: Dennis Black, Mike Rawlings, Norm Sparks, Roy Moore, Bob Turk, and Bill Marcum.
Monna was born April 22, 1915 to James and Mollie (Dunlap) Drennan in Parker County. She married Porter Brown September 10, 1932 in Marietta, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death along with her grandson, Mike Dean; her sister, Opal Hawkins; 4 brothers, Arvil, Jessie, Marvin and Olin Drennan.
Monna was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Boyd, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Texas Retired Teachers Association.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Gwen Dean of Boyd; her son, James "Biff" Brown and his wife Nell of Commerce; 3 grandsons, Kent, Brent and Trent Brown; 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
