Misty Nicole Drake, 43, of Denton entered into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, April 18, 2026 after a short battle of a rare form of colon cancer. A life well lived in a short amount of time. Misty was born on October 7, 1982 to Ernest Royce and Mary Evelyn (Stevens) Drake in Bedford, Texas. She was a licensed beautician and worked her way through college. She graduated from S.A.G.U. in Waxahachie with a Degree in Professional Development. She went to work for YouthWorks which led her to her passion for ministry. She later received her Master’s Degree in Theological Studies to become an Ordained Minister for the Assemblies of God. Misty later returned to her studies to become a Chaplain and pursued her career as a Hospice Chaplain.
She was a beloved sister, aunt, great aunt and a friend to many who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mary Drake; and her brother-in-law, Shannon McGauley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Richard W. Drake and wife Debra of Decatur, and Kevin L. Drake and wife Ann of Boyd; her sisters, Mert Warner and husband Andy of Decatur, Pam McGauley of Branson, MO. Her nephews, Joshua Drake and wife Brittany, Scott Warner and wife Erica, Eric Warner and wife Morgan, Kevin (Bubba) Drake and wife, Leah; her nieces Robin Nobles and husband Eli, Samantha Nielsen, Ashley Drake, Alisha Wright and husband Adam; Victoria Eakman and husband Terry. Great nieces and nephews, Madison, Ryder, Stetson, Peyton, Kaydence, Brylon, Brady, Parker, Oakley, Kaylee, Tanner, Jasper, Sawyer, Hayden, Riley, Tyler, Tripp, Reagan and Reese. Her Aunt, Dottie Stevens of Burleson; extended family and a large circle of friends near and far that was dear to her heart.
The family requests in lieu of flowers to make contributions to YouthWorks, a passion of Misty’s to provide for youth to attend Christian based summer mission trips to build faith, confidence and community service. Link for direct donations in Misty’s honor is www.youthworks.com/Misty
