Boyd ~ Millard Filmore Perkins, 98, retired General Dynamics employee, went to be with our Lord Monday, November 4, 2019 in Lake Granbury.
Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Military honors provided by Wise County Veteran’s Group. Family to receive friends one hour prior to the funeral.
The Reverend Mark Autry to officiate. Pallbearers include, Mark Romine, Rex Grundy, Don Patterson, Billy Oliver, Harry Lamance, Billy Pate, and Jackie Cooper.
Millard was born on February 1, 1921 to James and Annie Perkins in Pitkin, Louisiana. He was united in marriage to Betty Leader on August 13, 1949 in Fort Worth, she preceded him in death. He proudly served in the United States Army, Navy, and Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Boyd, the Fort Worth Anglers Club at Eagle Mountain Lake, and the Keeter Baptist Church.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Gwendolyn Oliver of Granbury; 2 sons, Clifford Perkins of Dallas, and Roderick Perkins of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; granddaughter, Chelsea Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
