Mike Bement

Runaway Bay ~ Mike Bement, 84, went to be with our Lord Friday, February 15, 2019 in Bridgeport.

Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Pallbearers include Mike Stockton, Lane Akin, J.T. Stockton, David Walker, and Phil Ryan.

Mike was born January 10, 1935, to Joe and Bessie (Thomason) Bement in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Sanders on July 14, 1952 in Ada, Oklahoma. Mike retired from being Wise County Fire Marshall, and also retired from Devon Energy.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Brett Bement.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Sylvia Sanders Bement of Bridgeport; his daughter, Rhonda McMurry of Runaway Bay; his son, Steven Bement of Austin; his grandchildren, Suzanne Largent, J.T. Stockton, and Brittany Kaker; his great-grandchildren, Austin, Hunter, Jayden, Brody, Blaze, Joe Tyler, and Allie; his brother, Joe Tom Bement of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
