Michael Dewayne Matheson

Bridgeport ~ Michael Dewayne Matheson, 64, went to be with our Lord Friday, May 7, 2021 in Decatur, Texas.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Michael was born September 7, 1956 to John D. and Glenda Roylene Leslie (Callaway) Matheson in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was a retired driller from the oilfield industry, and was a member of the Balsora Baptist Church. Michael was united in marriage April 10, 1991 to Kathy Cross in Bridgeport, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, and a brother.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy Matheson of Bridgeport; his sons, Marcus Matheson and Alex Cross, his (step-son); his 2 sisters, Elaine Smith and husband Clyde, and Diane Williams and wife Sandy; his 5 grandchildren; 3 nephews; and 2 nieces; extended family members and a host of friends.
