Michael Joe Franks

Michael Joe Franks, 43, of Bridgeport, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Community Church in Decatur.

Michael was born on April 22, 1982, to Joe and Charmaine Franks in Denton, Texas. He was a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Edyee — she was his world, and he fought bravely to stay by her side. His strength, determination, and love for his daughter were at the heart of his fight.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Franks; his grandfather, J.T. Ward; and his grandmother, Shirley Bujan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Edyee Franks; his mother, Charmaine Franks; and his brother, Jason Franks, all of Bridgeport, along with numerous extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.
