Michael Wayne Davis

Decatur ~ SFC Michael Wayne Davis, 71, went to be with our Lord Monday, November 9, 2020.

Memorial is 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 16, 202 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur. Randy Slimp will officiate. Inurnment at DFW Cemetery at a later date.

Michael was born January 15, 1949 to Martin S. and Billie Roy (Rushing) Davis in Lamesa, Texas. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Raylene Phariss on December 23, 1981 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Michael was a member at Faith Baptist Church in Decatur, and he retired from the U.S. Army after 25 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, June.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Elizabeth Davis of Decatur; his daughters, Angela Johnson and husband Byron of Katy, and Andrea Weertman and husband Allen of Ponder; his sons, Paul Stroud and wife Jennifer of Katy, and Benjamin Stroud of Lewisville; his grandchildren, Shawnee, Alec, Wesley, and Claire; his brother, Tim; and sister, Kim; extended family and a host of friends.
