Merilynn Kaye Potter

Fort Worth ~ Merilynn Kaye Potter, 78, went to be with our Lord Monday, January 12, 2026 in Fort Worth.

Memorial Service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 19th, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.

Fred Raney to officiate. 

Merilynn was born on January 27, 1947 to Joseph H. and Earldine (Harms) Moody in Decatur. She was united in marriage to James Potter on April 10, 2010 in North Richland Hills. Merilynn spent many years as an educator at Tarrant County College Northwest Campus, where she built great connections with her students. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and a friend to many that will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Earldine Moody.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Travis Batchelder and his wife Melissa of Fort Worth and Joseph S. Batchelder and his wife Megan of Fort Worth; her grandchildren, Logan and Henry Batchelder; her sister, Rhonda Riese of North Richland Hills; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
