Mercedes (Puente) Medina

Decatur ~ Mercedes Medina, 61, went to be with our Lord Monday, November 30, 2020.

Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Sara Rodarte will officiate. Pallbearers include Jose Medina, Gerardo Medina, Rafael Medina, Gerardo Medina Jr., Fernando Medina, and Benjamin Medina.

Mercedes was born September 24, 1959 to Benjamin and Fernanda (Galvan) Puente in Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico. She was united in marriage January 19, 1974 to Alfredo Medina in Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Alfredo Medina; brothers and sisters.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Gerardo Medina and wife Virginia of Decatur, Jose Medina and wife Alma of Decatur, and Rafael Medina and wife Laura of Decatur; 8 grandchildren, Aneliz Medina, Gerardo Medina Jr., Paola Medina, Fernando Medina, Benjamin Medina, Andrya, Natalie, and Cristian Medina; 2 great-grandchildren, J.J. and Esteban; numerous brothers, sisters, extended family and a host of friends.
