Decatur ~ Melvin Lester Vickers, 76, owner of Vic Printing, went to be with our Lord Monday, November 17, 2014 in Decatur.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 21 at Decatur Church of Christ with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.
Rick Ross will officiate. Pallbearers include Mark Jordon, Kevin Downe, Mark Smith, and Glen Vickers.
Melvin was born on May 10, 1938 to Addison and Shirley (Nix) Vickers in Seymour, Texas. He was united in marriage to Janis Darlene Smith on July 16, 1966 in Seymour they were married forty-seven years until her passing on November 26, 2013 . Melvin was in the printing business for more than sixty years. He had owned Vic Printing since 1992. He was a member of the Decatur Church of Christ
He was preceded in death by his father, Addison Vickers; his wife, Janis Vickers;
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Keith Vickers and wife Donna of Decatur and Jason Vickers and wife Jennifer of Roanoke; his grandson, Jackson Vickers of Roanoke; his brother, Glen Vickers of Seymour; his sisters, Helen Hammonds of Bowie, Gayle Smith of Moore, Oklahoma, and Linda Davis of Wichita Falls; his mother, Shirley Vickers of Wichita Falls; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
