Alvord: Melton Lee Davidson, 75, a lifetime resident of Wise County, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, September 16th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Whitaker officiating. Interment: Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers included Robert Davidson, Jeffry Davidson, Marc Davidson, Tony Davidson, Terry Davidson, and Billy Mac Davidson.
Melton was born June 18, 1936 to Jack and Madeline (Byers) Davidson. He married Lois Mae Johnson on December 11, 1981 in Decatur, Texas. Melton served his country in the United States Army and he retired from TXI in Chico after 26 years of service.
Melton is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois Davidson; and his brother, Tommy Wayne Davidson.
Left behind to cherish his memory are three sons, Bobby Davidson and wife Sylvia of Irving, Michael Davidson of Wichita Falls, Billy Davidson and wife Melinda of Minden, Louisiana, Loren "Eddie" Nielsen of Alvord, and Scott Nielsen of Alma, Nebraska; two daughters, Linda Davidson and husband Charlie of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Faith Ward and husband Kevin of Decatur; his brother, Billy M. Davidson and wife Mildred of Bridgeport; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
