Melinda Ann Gasperson

Melinda Ann Gasperson, 65, of Decatur went to be with her Lord Monday, May 3rd, 2026.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12th at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, May 11th at the funeral home.

Gerre Joiner will officiate. Pallbearers will include Willy Gasperson, Chance Gasperson, Chase Gasperson, Catcher Gasperson, William Holmes, and Casey Best. Honorary pallbearers include Brian Gasperson, Wade Gasperson,  Danner Holmes and Trent Best

Melinda was born December 23rd, 1960 to Jimmy Earl and Olivia Ann (Holmes) Gasperson in Decatur, Texas. She graduated TWU in Denton and was a retired chemistry teacher in the Ft. Worth ISD, and held numerous other positions for over 30 years. Melinda was a beloved niece, cousin and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

Beloved cousin, cherished for the joy and adventure she gave us-organizing trips to Six Flags, Disney, and Mexico, and filling our childhood with forts, games, and endless imagination.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ann Gasperson; grandparents, J.C. and Olivia Holmes and Earl G. and Inez Gasperson, and her uncle, John Coley Holmes, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved cousins, Raquie Gasperson, Willy Gasperson, Joanna Gasperson, Alison Gasperson, Brian Gasperson and wife Angela, Wade Gasperson, Sam Holmes and wife Tricia, Chris Holmes and wife Erin, Jeff Harrison and wife Holly, and Jason Holmes; and uncles, Bill Gasperson, Bob Gasperson and wife Rachel, and Sonnie Gasperson and wife Bernice; and aunts, Patsy Gasperson, Becky Gasperson Hatcher, and Vickie Holmes Flynt; and extended family and a host of friends.
