Melba J. (Elledge) Looney

Boyd ~ Melba J. Looney, 74, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in Decatur.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at Hilltop Assembly of God Church in Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Rev. Bill Fitch will officiate. Pallbearers include Randy Elledge, Kenny Looney, Rick Taylor, Jafid Herrera, Gerald Neighbors, and Chuck Berg.

Melba was born on December 20, 1940 to Ezra and Maydell (Crump) Elledge in Yantis, Texas. She was united in marriage to Lee Troy Looney on November 16, 1957 in Yantis. Melba held many job positions but was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Hilltop Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Robin Kay Fry; her granddaughter, Jennifer Fry and her brother, Dave Elledge.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Lee Troy Looney of Boyd; her daughters, Pam Huddleston and husband Bill of Boyd, and Debra Taylor and husband Raymond of Marshall; her grandchildren, Chad Huddleston and wife Kristen of Decatur, Kimberly Herrera and husband Jafid of Krum, Robert Fry of Lone Star, Steven Fry of Longview and Jason Fry and wife Ashley of Troy, Missouri; her great grandchildren, Layton, Addyson, Brynlee, Landon, Caleb, Alexia Rose and Steven; her brother, Royce Elledge and wife Jeannine of Boyd; her sister, Sandy Russell and husband Ben of Vicksburg, Mississippi; other family members and a host of friends.
