BRIDGEPORT -- May Griffin, 90, a homemaker, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007 in Decatur.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Griffin was born May 23, 1917 in Lamesa, TX to William B. and Nancy Griffeth Holliday. She married John B. Griffin Nov. 24, 1934 in Roswell, NM. They were united 69 years until his passing in Jan. 2004. She was also preceded in death by her son, Harvey Byrd Griffin, granddaughter, Kathy Deann Bennett, great-granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Giles, 3 sisters and 5 brothers. May was a member of The Assembly of God. Survivors: Daughters, Ruby Lee Ashcraft and husband John of Las Vegas and Marie Harriss of Amargosa Valley, Nevada. Son: Ben Griffin, Sr. and wife Clodine of Paradise. 36-Grandchildren, 65-Great-Grandchildren and 63 Great-great-grandchildren. 2 Brothers: Benny Holliday of Baltimore, Maryland and Harvey Holliday of Houston Numerous nieces and nephews
