Lake Bridgeport ~ Mattie Ruth Ezzell, 75, a housewife, went to be with our Lord Sunday, June 28, 2015 in Denton.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Brant Hawkins will officiate. Pallbearers include G.W. Carpenter, Winston Ezzell, Eric Fitzgerald, Billy Gladis, Ronnie Bolliver, and Michael Bolliver. Honorary pallbearers are Frankie Hobbs, and Jimmy Gamble.
Mattie Ruth was born on August 30, 1939 to Carroll and Rena (Morgan) Reid in Montague County. She was united in marriage to Jimmie Wayne Ezzell on May 24, 1968 in Wichita Falls.
Mattie Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Morgan Wayne Ezzell; her sister, and 5 brothers.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 47 years, Jimmie Wayne Ezzell of Lake Bridgeport; her sons, Carroll Woods and wife Joann of Lake Bridgeport, Jack Ezzell and wife Kathy of Sunset, J.D. Ezzell and wife Pam of Jacksboro; her daughters, Jimmie Ruth Carpenter of Park Springs, and Sarena Turner, of Chico; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
