Paradise ~ Mary Allene Thompson, 88, of Paradise, went to be with her Lord Friday, February 12, 2016 in Paradise, Texas.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February, 16, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Paradise with burial in Friendship Cemetery. Reverend David Kelly and Reverend Robert Owensby will officiate. Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Pallbearers include Tim Matheus, Dale Barkley, Allen Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Blake Matheus, and Jeff Gilmore. Honorary Pallbearers include Rev. Mark Autry and Jerry Swindell.
Allene was born June 7, 1927 in Keeter, Texas to John and Mary (Hays) Jackson. She married Marvin A. Thompson in 1946 and they were married 59 years until his passing in 2005. Allene retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 48 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Paradise and was a Past Matron of Boyd Chapter No. 897, Order of the Eastern Star.
Allene is survived by her son, Dr. Max Thompson and wife Kerry of Banquete, Texas; grandsons, Allen Thompson of Minnetonka, Minnesota, and Kevin Thompson of Midland, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin A. Thompson; daughter, Brenda Thompson; and all of her siblings.
