Mary Jo (Shaddox) Casteel

Decatur ~ Mary Jo Casteel, 88, a homemaker,  went to be with our Lord Friday, March 23, 2018 in Newark.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Lewis Coomer will officiate.

Mary was born on November 10, 1929 to John and Nannie (White) Shaddox in Dallas, Texas. She was united in marriage to Pleasant Casteel Jr. on January 13, 1945 in Rockwall. She was a member of the U-Turn World Ministries.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, David Casteel; her grandson, Michael Ray Casteel and two infant granddaughters.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Joann Greer of Louisville, Mississippi, Francis Salyer of Newark; her son, Max Casteel of Watauga, her daughter, Janie Reed of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Wanda Kuhlman of Ft Collins, Colorado, Kathy Beaty of Watauga, Bettie Adair of Newark, Ruthy Smith of Newark; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
