Mary Francis (Braswell) Bridges

Mary Francis (Braswell) Bridges of Cottondale, Texas was born on Tuesday, August 13, 1940, and she passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Mary Francis was born and raised in Freeport, Texas by her parents Patrick and Dorothy (Tillery) Braswell and she was a graduate of Brazosport High School in 1958. She married the love of her life, Charles Neel Bridges, in Ardmore, Oklahoma on April 18,1959 and, they were married for 48 wonderful years until his passing in 2007.

Mary Francis served the citizens of Wise County Texas as a Deputy Court Clerk in two different Wise County Justice of the Peace Courts for over 24 years. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport, Texas. She loved and was much loved by her family and all who knew her.

Mary Francis is survived by her four sons, Charles Neel Bridges Jr. of Cottondale, Texas, Patrick Christopher Bridges and his wife Kari of North Richland Hills, Texas, John Eric Bridges and his wife Brenda of Slidell, Texas, Robert Clark Bridges and his wife Amy of Weatherford, Texas. She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Janis Braswell of Kurten, Texas, niece Pam Evans and her husband Rick and family of Kurten, Texas, nephew Brian Braswell and his wife Estela and family of Kurten, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at the Cottondale Cemetery in Cottondale, Texas, on Saturday, June 13th at 1:30 p.m. The Reverend Dr. Lucia Kremzar will officiate the service.
