Marvin Ray Read Sr.
October 24, 1938 — July 11, 2015
Bridgeport ~ Marvin Ray “OZ” Read Sr., 76, an equipment operator, went to be with our Lord Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Baylor All Saints in Fort Worth.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home with a private burial at a later date.
Marvin was born on October 24, 1938 to John Dixon and Irene (Pike) Read in Paradise. He was united in marriage to Dana Choate on March 14, 1977 in Decatur. Marvin retired from TXI after 35 years as an equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ronald Read; his step-daughter, Sheri Cox; his sisters, Pauline Carlton and Lorene Read; his brothers, J.D. Read, Leon Read and Ernest (Hoot) Read; his step-grandson, Zackery Gober.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Dana Read; his sons, Marvin Read and wife Linny, Rodney Read and wife Valaria; his daughter, Beverly Taylor and step-daughter, Lisa Raven; his granddaughters, Amye Read, Kayla Van Brunt, and chosen granddaughter Lauren Breeden; his step-granddaughter, Bree Salazar; his grandsons, Cameron Taylor, Raylen Read and Ty Read; his great grandson , Cayden Van Brunt; his great granddaughter, Kaili Taylor; other family members and a host of friends.
