Chico~ Marvin Lovin Compton, 81, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in Decatur.
Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 at Victory Family Church in Decatur.
Marvin was born on July 21, 1940 to Robert Marvin and Gladys (Searcy) Compton in Calvin, Oklahoma. He had worked in construction for many years. Marvin was united in marriage to Tammie Pelham on April 22, 1983 in Denton, Texas. He was a member of Victory Family Church in Decatur. Marvin loved fishing and working in his garden and did so every chance he could. He also loved to cook and teaching his grandchildren to cook and cherished his time with them and his children. He was devoted to his family and friends. Marvin was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, that will be missed by all that knew and loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Sycgale Markum and Delores Mason.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Tammie Compton; his daughter, Connie Palla; his son, Ernie Compton; his son, Chad Compton; and his bonus son, Doug Jones; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
