Bridgeport ~ Martha Jane Hill, 88, a retired Post Mistress, went to be with our Lord Saturday, March 30, 2013 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Vienna, Illinois with burial in Whiteside Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Rev. Pete Vinson will officiate. Pallbearers include Dr. David Ray, Jerry Offerman, Charley Lanfear, Tim Whiteside, Josh Hill, and Tyler Duhon.
Jane was born on July 21, 1924 to Dewey and Lola (Stone) Parker in Ozark, Illinois. She retired from the United States Postal Service as Post Mistress.
Jane was preceded in death by her first husband, Sherman Whiteside; her second husband, Robert C. Hill; and her son, John F. Whiteside. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sue Ray and husband Dr. David Ray of Bridgeport; her sons, Jerry Whiteside and wife Katrina of Indianapolis, Indiana, Robert Allen Hill and wife Mary Ann of Lockport Illinois; her stepdaughters, Greta Chitwood and husband Ed of St. Louis, Missouri, and Gloria Baker and husband Homer of Vienna, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; her sisters, Icy Taylor of Peoria, Illinois, Ethel Odun and husband Wayne of Vienna, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Whiteside; other family members and a host of friends.
