Bridgeport ~ Mark Wilson Clark, 72, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in Decatur.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Rev. Fred Raney will offciate.

Pallbearers are Topper Loper, Rocky Loper, Haiden Clark, Carson Green, Casen Green, Cyler Green, Brayden Clark, and Rich Green. Honorary Pallbearer is Terry Long.

Mark was born on October 29, 1950 to Phil Clinton and Fern Louise (Caldwell) Clark in Woodward, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Rosie Loper on December 16, 1972 in Bridgeport. He was a mechanic at TXI for 20 years and retired from Holt Cat. After retirement, he worked for S&J Pharmacy as a delivery driver. Mark was very involved in the Wise County Soccer Association with a field named after him in Bridgeport. He received the Dr. James Hunter Memorial Award for his work with the youth of Bridgeport in 1993, awarded by the Bridgeport Area Chamber of Commerce. You could usually find him in a gym or at the ball fields watching his grandkids play and he loved listening to his granddaughter, Candice, sing. Mark lived for his kids and grandkids, they were the joy of his life. He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle, and a friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Phil and Fern Clark; and sister, Lindi Massey.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Rosie of Bridgeport; his son, Chris Clark and wife Raydyne of Sunset; his daughter, Shelley Green and husband Rich of Runaway Bay; his son, Mark Wilson Clark, Jr. and wife Andrea of Runaway Bay; his 10 grandchildren, Brayden, Gracie, Candice, Carson, Casen, Cyler, Haiden, Landry, Mielle, and Clay; Cameron; his 2 step-grandchildren, Cameron and Corbin; 2 brother-in-law’s, Topper Loper and wife Priscilla, and Rocky Loper and wife Kay; his sister-in-law, Misty Cooley; his mother-in-law, Rozell Loper; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
