Newark ~ Marie Ashmore, 86, a beautician, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, July 11, 2013 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Boyd. Burial is 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at IOOF Cemetery in Hamilton, Texas. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Rev. Mark Autry will officiate. Pallbearers include Robert Ashmore, George Ashmore, III, Jeffrey Ashmore, J.D. Nesbitt, John Wolfe, Bo Ashmore, Paul Ashmore, and Chuck Drain.
Marie was born on September 21, 1926 to Claude and Nellie (Harris) Harvey in Hamilton, Texas. She married George William Ashmore II on January 4, 1947 in Hamilton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newark.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George, and her sister, Ogle Dolloff.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Arlene Wolfe of Newark; her sons, Robert Ashmore and wife Rebecca of Fort Worth, George Ashmore, III and wife Jennifer of Decatur; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; other family members and a host of friends.
