Loyd Ray Scaff, 85, of Decatur, Texas, passed away on March 19, 2026, in his hometown. He was born on October 26, 1940, in Decatur to Loyd Franklin Scaff and Ruby Loran Teurman Scaff.
Visitation with family is 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, March 27th, 2026 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Loyd proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked in the oil fields of Oklahoma, where he spent many years making a living through hard work and dedication. Later, he returned to Decatur, where he was employed by Stanley and Bill Pitts, building cabinets—a trade that reflected both his skill and craftsmanship.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Kenneth Scaff, who passed away in 1969.
Loyd is survived by his two sisters, Ruby Willadene Mosley and Joyce Ogle, both of Decatur, Texas, along with extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Loyd will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his service to his country, and his quiet dedication to those around him. His life was one of perseverance, and he leaves behind a legacy rooted in family, service, and hard work.
A time of remembrance and reflection will be held by family and friends to honor his life.
