Fort Worth ~ Louis B. Hansen, 86, a retired surveyor, went to be with our Lord Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Dido Community Center with burial in Hansen Cemetery in Paradise. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Christian-Hawkins Funeral home.
Rev. David Isbell will officiate. Pallbearers include Kenny Russell, William Fruhwirth, Allen Patterson, R.J. Shea, Gerald De La Paz, and Jimmy Don Lewis.
Louis was born on October 5, 1927 to Hans and Floyce (Bass) Hansen in St. Louis, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Sue Hatfield on January 19, 1958 in Fort Worth. Louis was a Stewards Mate First Class in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a professional surveyor for the City of Fort Worth for 40 years. He was a member of the Julian Field Masonic Lodge.
Louis bought the “Farm” near Paradise in 1976 and spent as much time as possible there piddling, right up until Monday, August 25, 2014 with his best friend, Fred Pettigrew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Sue Hansen of Fort Worth; his son, Kevin Hansen and wife Kelly of Fort Worth; his granddaughters, Ashley Shea and husband R.J. of Gilmer, and Hannah Mary Hansen of Palestine; his great granddaughters, Haley and Holly Rodriguez, and Alexa Shea all of Gilmer; his great grandson, Dylon Carter Davis of Palestine; his best friend of 63 years, Fred Allen Pettigrew of Fort Worth; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Donations may be made to the Paradise or Cottondale Volunteer Fire Departments.
