Lorenella Cooper

Lorenella “Nella” Cooper, 81, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Funeral is Saturday, April 25 at 11:00 am at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday, April 24, from 6:00-7:30 pm at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Chad Monk will officiate. Pallbearers will include Brad Cooper, Dusty Cooper, Dalton Cooper, Hunter Bell, Colby Bell and Danny Lambert.

Lorenella Jane (Hood) Cooper was born August 8,1944 in Bridgeport, Texas to Loren and Ruby Nell Hood. Nella graduated from Boyd High School in 1962. She married Doug Cooper in 1961. Nella worked in sales and at Decatur Hospital for several years before retiring from Coker’s Funeral Home after 19 plus years.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Survived by her sons, James Douglas Cooper and wife Birdie of Cleburne and Chad Cooper and wife Susan of Boyd; three grandsons, Brad Cooper and wife Kaitlin of Cleburne, Dusty Cooper and wife Stephanie of Burleson, and Dalton Cooper and wife Molly of Decatur; five great-grand-daughters, Kloe, Brayley, Karter, Addie, and Emma; and a host of additional family and friends.
