Lois Imogene Williams, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, faith, and devotion to family.
Lois was born on May 24, 1932, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Howard and Lulu Edwards. She grew up in Porter Corners, New York, alongside her siblings, Ines and Howard.
On January 3, 1953, Lois married her beloved husband, Richard Mehlin Williams, in Saratoga Springs, New York. Together, they built a life centered on faith and family, living in New York, California, Missouri, and Texas before returning to Missouri in retirement. They shared 69 years of marriage.
Lois dedicated much of her life to serving others. She volunteered extensively and later worked at the Decatur Public Library in the literacy department. She was also a longtime member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, supporting charitable organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Easterseals.
Her faith was central to her life. Lois served faithfully at the United Methodist Church in Jerico Springs, where she was active in church groups and Bible study.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lulu Edwards; her siblings, Ines and Howard; her beloved husband, Richard Williams; her daughter-in-law, Gail Williams; and her grandson, Austin Williams.
She is survived by her children: Gerald (Sheri) Williams, Gary Williams, Rebecca Gamm, and Gail (Robert) Thomas, and daughter-in-law Janice Musselman. She also leaves behind a cherished legacy through her grandchildren: Elaine (Matthew) Youngman, Angela (Daniel) Thewes, Ashley (Zach) Bonner, Bradley (Lara) Gamm, Kimberly (Jaron) McFarland, Chelsea (Parker) Day, James (Madison) Thomas, and Dakota Williams, along with 24 great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Lois will be remembered for her deep love of family, her cheerful spirit, and her commitment to serving others. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
