Decatur ~ Linda Ann (Elsom) Lambert, 65, a Controller for Reach Media, went to be with our LORD Saturday, September 12, 2020 at her home in Carrollton, Texas.
Graveside: 10 AM Friday, Sept. 18, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Family to receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Decatur. The Reverend Jerry Hays to officiate. Pallbearers: Mark Lambert, Michael Lambert, Mason Nicks, Wyatt Nicks, Buz Elsom and Tom Elsom.
Linda was born December 27, 1954 to Claud and Alma Elsom in Decatur. She was a gifted pianist, graduated Salutatorian of her Decatur High School Class, member of the National Honor Society, National Merit Scholarship finalist, Drum Major and Decatur Band Sweetheart. She represented Texas in the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C and received the 1973 DHS Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow Award.
Upon graduation, Linda attended Texas A& M University and received a degree in accounting. She worked as a CPA while raising three children.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Neal O’Bannion and her father, Claud Elsom, Jr.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Chanci Nicks and husband Mason of Decatur; 2 sons, Mark Lambert and wife Annesly of Bedford, Michael Lambert and wife Erin of Flower Mound; 10 grandchildren, Wyatt and Reagan Nicks, Evelyn, Lucy, Annette, Millie and Henry Lambert, Amelia, Owen and Connor Lambert; her mother, Alma Elsom of Decatur; her brother, Buz Elsom and wife Jan of Decatur; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
The family gives highest praise to Almighty God, who holds all our heartaches and joys, our futures and our pasts, in His sovereign hand.
