Decatur ~ Lester “Ed” Edward Jolley, 78, went to be with our Lord Thursday, November 6, 2014 in Decatur.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Decatur, Texas with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the parish.
Father Thomas Dsouza will officiate. Pallbearers include Andrew Rottner, Rob Fothergill, Chuck Boatner, Tom Long, Jerry O’Flaherty, and Spencer Hodge. Honorary pallbearers are Wise Veteran Group and Braniff Airline Employees.
Ed was born on August 25, 1936 to Joe and Loretta (Harkins) Jolley, Sr. in Powhatan, Louisiana. He was united in marriage to Ellen Ann Robson on August 6, 1966 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ed was a retired airline pilot. He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Decatur and was a member Wise County Veteran’s Group.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Joseph A. Jolley; his brothers, Joe Jolley, Jr. and Hugh Jolley.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Ann Jolley of Decatur; his sons, Edward R. Jolley and wife Cindy of Marlborough, Massachusetts and John S. Jolley and wife Teri of Marlborough, Massachusetts; his daughter, Mary Jolley of Decatur; 8 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
