BOYD -- Leon Galloway, 79, a retired sheet metal worker at LTV, died Monday, December 18, 2006 in Boyd. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church in Decatur. Burial: 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Leon was born in Cooke County, Texas to the late Carl and Reda (Sasser) Wilson. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, receiving a Victory Medal. He married Geneva Wilson on August 26, 1950 in Arlington.
Leon was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Decatur and a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
Survivors: wife: Geneva Galloway; sons: Joe Lyn Galloway and wife Carolyn, Lonnie Galloway and wife Linda; daughter: Sharlene Sims and husband Danny; daughter-in-law: Pam Galloway; grandchildren: Christian, Brandy, Cody, Sarah, Mary, Allie, Samuel; great grandchildren: Lauren, Zachary, Catherine, Nicholas, William, Lillian; and sister: Margaret Stone.
