Lawanda Viola (Johnson) Mcalister

Decatur ~ LaWanda Viola Johnson McAlister, 67, passed from this earth Friday, May 13, 2022.

Graveside is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

LaWanda was born May 15, 1955 to Jimmie Neff and Laura Faye (Singleton) Johnson in Decatur, Texas. She was a custodian in the maintenance industry for many years. LaWanda was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Laura Johnson and her brother, Ricky Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gralin Hollie of Ft. Worth, Scotty Reed of Decatur, ; her granddaughter, Esby Reed of Little Elm, her grandson Grayson Hollie of Decatur, her sisters, Glenda Washington of Decatur, LaVerne Johnson of Decatur, Ima Johnson of Decatur, and Ann Ransom of Boyd; her brother, Jimmy Johnson of Decatur and Robert Johnson of Mansfield ; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
