BRIDGEPORT -- LaVera Moxon, 85, a retired licensed vocational nurse and foster home helper, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Friday in East Bridgeport Cemetery.
Lavera was born in Cleburne, Texas. She married S.D. Moxon on September 14, 1940 in Cleburne. They were united in marriage until his death.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Selmo Jean Moxon; her son, Richard Dean Moxon; and 8 brothers and sisters.
She was a member of the Cates Street Church of Christ.
Survivors: Daughter, Jerine Slaughter and husband, Bill of Alvord; foster son, Charles Moxon and wife, Debra of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Christopher, Billie-Allen, Bobby, Jeremy, Tiffany, Kathy, Amanda; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Sadie Bingham of Cleburne; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
