Laurence "Mac" Mckinstry

Alvord ~ Laurence "Mac" McKinstry, 84 of Alvord went to be with his Lord Saturday, November 8, 2014 at his home due to heart complications.
Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home. There will be a burial of cremains at DFW National Cemetery at a later date.
Mac was born October 12, 1930 in Webster, Massachusetts. He attended Woodstock Academy in Connecticut where he ran Track and Field. He was employed at Wal-Mart for 5 years in Decatur, Texas and was also employed by the Federal Reserve as an armored truck driver. He married Mary Lu Adams in 1960 in Illinois. He proudly served his country for 21 years in the United States Air Force.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his son, Jerome McKinstry and wife Jerri of Alvord; daughter, Angela Ferguson and husband Brian of Frisco; 3 grandchildren, Gideon Lewis Ferguson, Jennifer Aynes, and Joe House; 3 great grandchildren, Braxton Calvert, Mackenzie Aynes, and Caleb House; cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his wife.
