Laura Ruth Heimlich

Bridgeport~ Laura Ruth Heimlich, 80, went to be with our Lord on Monday, January 3, 2022 in Denton.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8th, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial to follow at Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Laura was born on May 23, 1941 to James David and Opal (Bigelow) Latta in Amarillo, Texas. She was a Certified Nurse Assistant and worked for Amon Carter as his personal nurse for many years. Laura was united in marriage to Joe Arthur Heimlich on June 10, 1972 in Elgin, Texas. They shared many wonderful years and memories until his passing on July 21, 2005.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Heimlich; her sons, Darren Heimlich and Lonnie Lackey; her grandson, Shane Heimlich; and her sister, Billie Behee.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Charles Clarey and wife Terry of San Marcos, Robert Wilson and wife Debbie of Bonham, Kenneth Lackey of Bridgeport, and Chris Lackey and wife JoAnn of Bandera; her daughters, Becky Barnes of Sunset, Debbie Pierce of Fort Worth, Laurie Romaine and her husband Chalmers of Boliver, Mo., and Laura Ann Heimlich; numerous beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Lona Lea Webster; her brother, Jimmy Latta of Springfield, Missouri; numerous extended family members and a host of good friends.
