Laura Maudean “Deanie” Adams,84, passed from this earth Sunday, June 28th, 2026 in Denton, Texas.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 3rd at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Sweetwater Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dan Adams will officiate. Pallbearers include Jonathan Cordell, Eric Gage, Andrew Gage, Colton Burris, Moses Phillips, and Thomas Staley.

Deanie was born August 29th, 1941 to Ellis Ray and Reedamay Neil (Murray) Kemp in Littlefield, Texas. She was united in marriage June 25th, 1960 to Billy Wayne Adams in Decatur, Texas. Deanie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Ray and Reedamay Kemp; a brother, Stanley Kemp, and a daughter, Rhonda Adams.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, Bill Adams of Decatur; her daughter, Ginny Adams of Decatur; her son, Dan Adams and wife Connie of Loganville, Georgia; her grandchildren, Taryn, Jonathan, Christopher, and Zulynn; her sisters, Wyvonne Lipsey,and Wylda Kemp; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
