Decatur ~ Launa Lee Wilhite, 90, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Monday, September 7, 2015 in Decatur.
Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. No set visitation.
Rev. Shelley McNew will officiate. Pallbearers include Larry Pounds, Bennie King, Gregg King, James Wilhite, Jim Swaim, and Mitchell Curry.
Launa was born on July 22, 1925 to Robert and Mildred (Horton) Shiflett in Stoney, Texas. She was united in marriage to Charles Wilhite on February 6, 1947 in Decatur. Launa was a member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Elvin Shiflett and wife Louise.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Charles Lee Wilhite of McKinney; her daughter, Dena Silvers and husband Ron of Decatur; her grandson, Stacey Silvers and wife Jenna of Dallas; her granddaughter, Lauren Brewer and husband Luke of Arlington; her great grandchildren, Luke, MaryLee and Jack Silvers; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
