Larry Dean Smith

Bridgeport ~ Larry Dean Smith, 65, retired meter technician for Devon, went to be with our Lord Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Paradise.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Roberts Branch Cemetery in Jacksboro. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rev. Jeff Honeycutt will officiate. Pallbearers include Jason Smith, Cody Anderson, Bobby Richey, Frank Conteras, Clayton Green, and Bo Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Vera, Bill Lewis, James Owen, Michael Gage, and Jason Alvey.

Larry was born on February 4, 1952 to Jasper and Della Mae “Johnnie” (Brisco) Smith in Jacksboro, Texas. He was united in marriage to Pamela Kay Koerner on March 8, 1997 in Bridgeport, Texas. Larry was a member of the United Body of Christ Church in Paradise.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jasper Smith.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Kay Smith of Paradise; his son, Jason Smith and wife Sherry of Decatur; his daughters, Tracey Melendrez and husband Rey of Cedar Creek; Kayla Prock Jones and husband Doug of Decatur, Jeanie Dahlen of Alvord, and Misty Hillary and husband Patrick of Euless; 18 grandchildren;  5 great grandchildren; his mother, Johnnie Smith of Bridgeport; his brother, Ronnie Smith and wife Lindsey of Bridgeport;  his sister, Connie Shawn and husband Jerry of Boyd; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
