BRIDGEPORT -- LaNita J. Pendergrass, 70, a retired preschool teacher for Kenneth Copeland Ministries, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, in Decatur.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at Cuba Church. Burial: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Rev. Joey Vick will officiate. Pallbearers will be Edward King, Billy Young, Anthony Torres, John Torres, Jonathan Dennis, David Jones, and Gordon Taylor.
LaNita was born on October 30, 1937 in Bridgeport to Gracy McKenzie and Dessie (Glass) Porter. She married Tommy Pendergrass on May 20, 1987 in Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Left behind to cherish her memory are: Husband, Tommy Pendergrass of Bridgeport; daughter, Lawaynda Kral and husband, Ed, of North Richland Hills; son, Kenneth Arnold and wife, Jackie of Bridgeport; stepson, Carl Pendergrass and wife, Tyna of Boyd; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
