Alvord: L. A. "Mac" McMullen, 77, of Alvord went to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 16, 2008 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 20th at the First Baptist Church of Sunset with the Rev. Tim Neeley to officiate. Burial will follow at Alvord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Jason McMullen, James McMullen, Jeff McMullen, Jimmy McMullen, Danny Waltman and Cody McMullen.
Mac was born July 2, 1931 to Luther James and Etta May (Barman) McMullen in Monroe, California. He married Judy Elaine Bradley on February 25, 1995 in Decatur. Mac was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sunset, a member of the Masonic Lodge #512 in Alvord and worked for the Alvord ISD in the maintenance department. Mac is preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 13 years, Judy McMullen of Alvord; sons, Larry McMullen of Alvord, Ron McMullen of Georgetown, Texas, Lynn McMullen of Alvord, Ricky McMullen of Arlington, Texas, and Roger McMullen of Bridgeport; daughter, Patti Brown of Keller; stepsons, Billy Trim of Alvord and Doyle Johnson of Fort Hood; stepdaughters, Stacy Tackett and Terri Caswell of Bowie; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
