Rockwall-Kevin Gene Gowdy, 45, a teacher, went to be with our Lord Friday, September 1, 2017 in Rockwall.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Decatur.
Funeral 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel.
Kevin was born July 15, 1972 to Kenneth and Susan (Jeffers) Gowdy in Amarillo, Texas.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his father KennethGowdy and wife Donna of Rhome; his mother, Susan Wagner and husband Jim of Houston; his son, AedenGowdy of Wiley; his daughter, Kennedy Gowdy of Wiley; his sister, Kendra Eberle and husband Bob of Arriba, Colorado; his sister Kamie Littlefield and husband Kevin of Houston; his brother James Wagner and wife Amy of Twenty Nine Palms, California and a host of family, students and friends.
Kevin was a loving and devoted father who loved coaching his son’s football team, teaching them the craft of freestyle on the bicycle and watching his daughter excel in her theatrical and dance performances. He graduated with honors from Steven F. Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree and was an accomplished artist. He loved teaching his students the joy of artistry.
