Chico~Kenneth Lee “PeeWee” Cansler, 81, of Chico went to be with our Lord on Thursday, November 26, 2020 in Chico.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Bethel Cemetery in Decatur. Family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Joey Vick will officiate. Pallbearers are to include Gary Pryor, David Cansler, Billy Cansler, Joey Brown, and Ethan Pryor.
Kenneth was born on May 16, 1939 to Earl Daniel and Dolly Ester (Ramsey) Cansler in Bridgeport. Texas. He was united in marriage to Barbara Pryor on March 19, 1977 in Bridgeport. Kenneth was in construction and was a maintenance worker for the Methodist Camp retiring after 10 years. He loved hunting and fishing and in his earlier years loved to sing and perform at the Texas Opry among many other venues. Most thought his voice sounded like Ernest Tubb. He cherished his family and friends and his time spent with them. Kenneth was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather who will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Billy Don Cansler, Gene Paul Cansler, and Terry Silveria.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Barbara Cansler of Chico; his sons, David Cansler and wife Kimberley of Newark, and Bill Cansler and wife Jo of Gainsville; his daughters, Kathy Pryor of Decatur, Shari Cairns and husband Roger of Newark, Ginger Greenlee of Newark, and Michele Moore of Belton, Texas; ten grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and two great-greatgrandchildren; his sisters, Linda Sue Freeman and husband Jimmy, and Sherry Crowell and husband Tom all of Marshall, Texas; his brothers, R.E. “Buck” Houchins of Ft. Worth, Rick Cansler of Salem, Oregon and Lynn Cansler and wife Jan of Colorado Springs, Colorado; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
