Decatur: Kenneth McDermitt, 73, a retired police officer, died Monday, March 24, 2008 in Decatur.
Visitation was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister.
Kenneth was born July 20, 1934 in Plainview, Texas, to Lester and Ettie McDermitt. He married Barbara Clark on August 15, 1953 in Dimmitt, Texas. He served on the police force in Amarillo, Dimmitt, and Friona, Texas.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara McDermitt of Decatur; daughters, Cindy Ellis, Julie Blanton and Becky Burr; son Kyle McDermitt; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
