Marble Falls ~  Kenneth Wayne Clower, 85, of Marble Falls, formerly of Alvord, went to be with his Lord Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Marble Falls, Texas.

Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at Alvord Church of Christ with burial in Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Kenneth was born February 1, 1930, on the family farm at the Pella Community on Dry Hollow Creek near Alvord, Wise County, Texas to George Shelton and Lola Lee (McDonald) Clower. He was the fifth of their six children. He grew up and attended school in Alvord. As a teenager, he raised and sold cantaloupes and watermelons on area roadsides, melons he raised on their small farm after he cleared a field to farm.

After graduating from Alvord High School, he entered the United States Army where he served for 18 months. After his service to his country he began working in the oil and gas industry for El Paso Natural Gas Company until his retirement. He continued to play baseball with the company team until injuries forced him to stop. After retiring, he did consulting work overseas designing and building gas production/processing plants. He worked for a while in Russia and Algeria.

In 1959, Ken married Connie Jean Barker in Brady, Texas. To them was born a daughter, Dana Devon. Connie was killed in an auto accident in Sweetwater, Texas in 1963. Kenneth married Dora Ann Scott Liner in 1965 and gained three step daughters, Deborah Ann, Connie Beth, and Patricia Lynn. They lived for several years in the Odessa area and later in Houston. Dora passed away in 2002 after a long battle with cancer. Ken later married Rosa Morehead Gregory and gained three step sons, Mike, Tim, and Gary Gregory. They spent too few wonderful years together and did a good deal of traveling. They lived for a while in Early, Texas, and later in Fredericksburg. Rosa died suddenly of heart failure in February 2011. Ken stayed in their home in Fredericksburg for a while until his health began to fail.  He moved to assisted living centers in Kingsland and later Marble Falls to be near to his daughter, Dana.

Left behind to cherish his memory 3 daughters, Dana Sperry of Granite Shoals, Texas, Deborah James and husband Kirby of Midland, Texas, and Patricia Ervin and husband Carl of Midland, Texas; grandchildren, Shannon Sperry, Christopher Sperry, Sean Sperry, Jeremy James and wife Amanda, Jennier James, Shawn Spruill and wife Jenna, Tony Stevenson and wife Penny, and April Chandler; great-grandchildren, Dawstian, Aeithen, Camryn, Johnathan, Mike, Nathan, Logan, Brayton, Shae, Sienna, Teagan, Mikela, Mackenzie, Kadence; older brother, Curtis Clower and wife Martha of Urbana, Illinois; sister in law, Joyce Mote Clower of Gulfport, Mississippi; brother in law, Ray Cobb of Springton, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and may friends and aquaintances from his working years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three wives, brother, Curg (Tom) Clower and wife Christine; sister, Lloyd Lee (Sister) Ferguson and husband Melvin; brother George Clower; little sister, Linnie Mae Cobb; daughter, Connie Beth Spruill; and a great granddaughter, Shayla Devon Sperry.
