Judy Elizabeth (Grindle) Wilson

Boyd ~ Judy Elizabeth Wilson, 70, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Lufkin.

Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Aurora Baptist Church in Aurora with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery #2 in Boyd. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Juanita Ransom and Andrew Vandergriff will officiate. Pallbearers include Buck Slocum, Dandy Wilson, Terry Wilson, Colby Hodges, Forrest Hodges and Trent Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Hayden Wilson, Chance Morehouse, Dylan Wilson, Jeremy Hill and Rowdy Wilson.

Judy was born on December 15, 1944 to Joseph B. and Ethel (White) Grindle in Arp, Texas. She was united in marriage to Charles Wilson, Sr. on April 23, 1969 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a member of Aurora Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. Judy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was gifted in playing the guitar, French harp, piano and had a voice of an angel. Judy was a resident of Boyd for 40 years then moved to Wells, Texas where she lived for 3 and half years to be close to her children.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 33 years, Charles Wilson on July 2, 2002; her granddaughter, Jamye Marie Crawford; her brothers, John and Joseph Grindle.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are: her daughters, Rose Hodges and husband Keith of Alto, Judy Crawford and husband Robby of Wells, Charlene Slocum and husband Mark of Boyd; Suanne Morehouse and husband Sam of Lufkin, Angie Mullens of Brookshire, Vickie Rayburn and husband Eddie of Springtown, and Pam Miller of Boyd; her sons, Charles (Beau) Wilson and wife Wendy of Azle, Wesley Wilson and wife Cynthia of Decatur, Lesley Wilson and wife Alicia of Grayford, Darryl Wilson and wife Loretta of Cottondale, Arnold Wilson and wife Joyce of Azle, Gene Wilson and wife Laquada of Azle,  Johnny Wilson and wife Patricia of Greenville, Ricky Wilson and wife Chi of Virginia, Jerry Wilson and wife Donna of Kentucky and Kenny Wilson and wife Peggy of Missippi;  her grandchildren, Forrest and Colby Hodges, Jacki, Sheena and Sabrina Crawford, Cody, Kenzie, Crystall and Buck Slocum, Hayden and Dylan Wilson, Trenton and Cheyenne and Savanna Wilson, Brooke Johnson, Chance, Maddie and Meagan Morehouse, Harlin and Reed Wilson, Audrey and Jennifer Lofton, Kim Christy and Eddie Rayburn, James and Henry Miller, Mark and Sara Wilson, Rowdy Wilson, Jennifer, Rusty and Jessica Wingate, Mandy, Jessica, Samantha, Kelly and Bubba Wilson, Donny and Crystal Wilson, Dandy, Terry, Bryan, Jason and Mary Beth Wilson, Chuck, Jeff and Scotty Wilson; numerous great grand children; her sister Betty Atkerson of Rusk ; her brother Rusty Grindle of Alto; other family members and a host of friends.
