Judy Arlene (Cheek) Smith

Rhome- Judy Arlene “Cheek” Smith, 78, went to be with our Lord Friday, December 22, 2023.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Judy was born June 2, 1945 to Olie and Alla Mae Buffington Cheek in Grapevine, Texas. She attended Grapevine High School and prior to her retirement, she was a cashier and stocker for Lowes grocery store in Boyd for 7 years. She always had a line at her register of patrons that wanted her to check them out due to her bubbly personality because she was a friend to everyone. She made it her mission to tell everyone that she encountered on a daily basis “God bless you”. Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Olie and Alla Mae Cheek; one brother, and three sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Robyn Gilliam and husband Preston of Rhome; her son, Patrick Smith and wife Sue Ellen of Fort Worth; 4 grandchildren, Brent, Justin, Jason, and Lauren; 2 great grandchildren, Talynn and Jude;  one sister Dorthea; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The family would like to thank Judy’s caregiver Vivian Miller for the wonderful care she provided Judy with for 3 years.
